The holiday season is special for so many reasons, but one of the ways we can all make this year extra special is by giving back. The Young School is very proud to announce that we will be partnering with ABC2 News this season to help bring happiness and holiday memories to children in need.
The week after Thanksgiving, ABC2 News will be kicking off their 16th Kindertime Toy Drive. The toys collected during this year’s toy drive will be distributed to Maryland families in need, as well as the children of fallen firefighters and police officers.
Since its start 16 years ago, the Toy Drive has distributed more than 350,000 toys in Maryland. Beginning on December 1nd, until December 23rd you can help The Young School and ABC2 bring joy to children all over Maryland by bringing any new and unwrapped toys to their many drop-off locations including all five Young School locations in Columbia, Gambrills, Westminster and White Marsh, Maryland.
The big distribution day will take place on December 23, between 3-6pm at the ABC2 studios. A caravan of emergency vehicles will lead the way with their sirens and lights flashing and toys in tow.
The entire Young School team is so proud to be able to come together as children, families, teachers, and administrators to provide time, effort and materials to those in our communities who need the extra help. The Young School philosophy supports a life-long love of learning, and giving back to the community creates the foundation for our children to grow individually as well as see oneself as part of a larger population.
Please help us this holiday season by making one child’s life a little bit happier.
