The Young School aims to open next year

Plans for the first, separate stand-alone building at the Shoppes of Meadow Creek passed through Westminster’s Planning and Zoning Commission last week and is set for construction. The site plan proposed a 12,000-square-foot building to be the home of The Young School, with capacity for 150.

Clad only in diapers, a group of toddlers, fresh off a watercolor painting activity at the Young School, did what they do best -- crawled around, chewed on various toys, adding to the lively cacophony inside the Columbia school.
King’s Contrivance is Awarded Prestigious Maryland State Department of Education Accreditation

The Young School in Columbia, Maryland has been accredited by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), one of only a few preschools in Maryland to receive the prestigious accreditation. The State accreditation is a voluntary process that encourages excellence in preschool programs, and gives parents assurance that the school has undertaken vigorous educational standards.
King’s Contrivance Earns Full MSDE Accreditation

Non-public schools in the state of Maryland are required to obtain an MSDE Certificate of Approval. The Young School has held this Certificate of Approval for our four year old program since its opening. The Young School at King’s Contrivance is very proud to have recently received MSDE Accreditation, which applies to our Infant Care through Kindergarten.
