We make education an exciting adventure

At The Young School, our early childhood education program begins with a vision that embraces the five most important aspects of your child's first adventure in education:

  • Learning to trust
  • Respecting others
  • Inspiring wonder
  • Promoting the fun in learning
  • Caring for your child as if he or she is your own
  • A secure, comfortable environment

Infants and Toddlers are placed in a secure, comfortable environment where they are given the freedom to explore and interact with children of their own age. Two, three and four year olds learn, grow and evolve in a dynamic Reggio Emilia influenced environment that encourages respect, explores the hundred ways a child can learn, and teaches important life skills.

Each step of The Young School Early Childhood Program is carefully crafted to
tap into your child's natural curiosity,

discover and develop his or her unique talents, and inspire a love for learning that will last a lifetime.

A respect-based teaching philosophy. Our philosophy of teaching is based on respect. Children learn respect for each other, for adults, for property and for themselves. The teachers for all age groups in our dynamic environment respect children, their varying rates of development, their ideas about the world and how it works, and their ability to put their ideas into action.

We believe that children are not defined solely by their chronological age, but are seen through many lenses as we recognize their strengths in different areas. Continuous growth is always encouraged whether it is in a cognitive area, physically, emotionally or socially. Children show their “readiness” for learning in many ways and teachers encourage them to experiment and reach their fullest potential.
