The Young School and the HCPSS Model Innovative Pre-Kindergarten Partnership
The Young School in Kings Contrivance and the Howard County Public School System have partnered to offer high quality pre-kindergarten services to many children who would otherwise be ineligible or unable to receive them. The partnership will be formalized with an official signing at the Waterside Restaurant in the Sheraton Columbia Town Center Hotel on Monday, February 7. More..

The Young School Launches a New Website
After months of hard work and preparation, the Young School has officially launched its new web site!
This new and improved site features information on our all of our locations, our educational philosophy, and admissions. We’ve also added a photo album that’s chock full of pictures of our wonderful students!

New Location Opens in Westminster
On September 7, 2010, the Young School opened its newest location at the Shoppes at Meadow Creek in Westminster.
Conveniently located just off of MD-140, this new location has room for 150 children ranging in age from 8 weeks to 4 years. For more information on this location or to contact the Head of School, Tracy Ray, visit our locations tab.
The Young School at Kendall Ridge in Columbia is Awarded M.D.S.E. Accreditation
The Young School at Kendall Ridge in Columbia, Maryland has been accredited by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), one of only a few preschools in Maryland to receive the prestigious accreditation. The State accreditation is a voluntary process that encourages excellence in preschool programs, and gives parents assurance that the school has undertaken vigorous educational standards. More..

The Young School aims to Open Next Year
Plans for a new location at the Shoppes at Meadow Creek passed through Westminster’s Planning and Zoning Commission last week and is set for construction. The site plan proposed a 12,000-square-foot building to be the home of The Young School, with capacity for 150. More..
