Creating Healthy Habits With Grow Fit®
Helping children balance nutrition and activity.

Our comprehensive Grow Fit program helps lay the foundation for a lifetime of healthy habits. By encouraging balanced nutrition and physical activity early on, children are better prepared to reach their full potential and avoid chronic diseases later in life.
Our program includes the following goals:
- Physical activity: 1-2 hours every day, including outside play when possible.
- Limited screen time: At school, no more than 30 minutes weekly. At home, a maximum of 1-2 hours/day of quality programming. None for kids 2 or younger.
- Beverages: Water is always available. No sugar-sweetened drinks. Low or nonfat milk is provided for children ages 2 and over.
- Infant feeding: Breastfeeding moms can provide milk and/or are welcome to breastfeed during school time.
Food selections are approved by a registered dietician nutritionist. All servings comply with USDA portion size and nutrition requirements.
Building Healthy Eating Habits
We believe introducing vegetables early helps children build healthy eating habits that can last a lifetime. Through our participation in the Veggies Early and Often initiative, we create positive, engaging mealtime experiences that encourage children to explore new flavors and enjoy a wide variety of nutritious foods.
Children benefit from:
- More vegetables incorporated into our daily menus.
- Vegetable choices included in infant breakfasts and snacks.
- Gentle encouragement to try new vegetables more than once.
- Menus featuring different varieties of vegetables throughout the year.
