Berry Delicious Dessert Ideas for Independence Day

By Nicole Spain, Registered Dietitian

Fourth of July is a time to relax, slow down, and enjoy special moments with your family.  This usually means big barbeques and backyard parties with extended family and friends.  Although, our celebrations may be smaller and feel a bit different this year, that doesn’t mean we can’t still celebrate! Try making one of these festive berry desserts to share with your family. They will not only be delicious, but they will also boost your immune system. Berries are a great source of vitamin C which can help prevent damage to your cells and protect against immune deficiencies. Dark berries like blueberries, blackberries, and strawberries also contain flavonoids, which are highly effective antioxidants that boost your immune system.
